Old Projects
Over the past few years I've attempted to create many programs. Most of these programs made it to a stage where I could say I've made something but none of them really made it to a stage where I felt others would want to use them. Just to give you an idea of the different things that I've tried, here is a list of my old projects:
 |
Turt's Awakening (or Turt's Dreamscape):
Turt's Awakening and Turt's Dreamscape are the 2 different working titles of the lastest old project. This project came just before I started Turt's Puzzle Blocks. At this point I really wanted to make a game, so I decided to get back to Direct Draw. Turt's Awakening was planned to start as a game similar to PacMan and then continually have things added untill it became a game similar to Zelda for the SNES. As you may be able to see I almost got to the PacMan stage.
I stopped working on Turt's Awakening when I got the idea for Turt's Puzzle Blocks, I had got really stuck with the project and was looking at having to almost start over because of poor designing. However, I wouldn't be surprized if later on another project like this one is started.

Turt's Driving School:
Turt's Driving school never really got anywhere. I had started learning Direct Draw and had to come up with an idea for a game to use the new skills. The problem here wasn't that I got stuck or that I got bored, rut rather I spent too much time trying to create the graphics for the game.
As you can see in the screenshot I have alot of the graphics layout complete. The game just needs to be put together, so Turt's Driving School my be openned again as a future project.

Turt's Adventure:
Here we have the first of the "Turt's" series. This game really got close to a playable stage. Turt's Adventure is a text based adventure game, the idea behind starting this project was to see what I could do with C++ classes. This project was cut short when classes started again and then I just never got back into it.
I have tried a few times to finish off this project but all that ever does is give me ideas for new projects with graphics and all sorts of fun and interesting things

Real Audio List Manager& Real Audio List Tracker:
Now these are the two old projects of the bunch, these are from when I was learning Visual Basic. At that time I was downloading MP3's and then converting them into Real Audio format, this compressed them even more then an MP3 so I was able to store hundred's on a CD. I started loosing track of what songs I had and what songs I wanted, and that where these projects came in. I created a Access database of all my songs and then created the Real Audio List Manager that allowed me to search the list, make playlists, add new songs, and even play the songs off the CD.
As you can see the Real Audio List Manager is quite a bit bigger then the Real Audio List Tracker and thats the only reason for the tracker. I removed all the features that I really didn't want to use all the time and created the smaller version so that I could quickly search for things when I just needed to know what songs I needed.

I do not plan on setting these up for download, mostly because I don't have the bandwidth, but also because they aren;t finished and I don't want to work on getting them ready for others to mess around with. If you have any questions on comments on these projects you can email me at admin@turt99.com
